Today we went outside to enjoy the warm weather and create a scaled model of the solar system. The Sun was a soccer ball, Earth was a peppercorn, Jupiter was a bottle cap, and Pluto (the dwarf planet) was 130 metres away from our “sun”! It gave us a good visual as to how much space there is between the planets and how far away the outer planets actually are.
After that we started on group presentations about the 8 planets. The groups are as follows:
Mercury: Kevin, Shawna
Venus: Ashley, Drew
Earth: Tiffiney, Paige
Mars: Kayla, Pierre
Jupiter: Warren, CJ, Simon
Saturn: Keaton, Kendra, Rigel
Uranus: Konan, Josee, Deserae, Jessie
Neptune: Myrnalynn

You will also be required to create a one-page handout to share with your classmates. Your 5 minute presentation may take on any form- be creative! (Song, dance, powerpoint, comic, etc!)
